An intriguing idea being created through Kickstarter funding: Tatroux

The chefs seem really promising and the books should look great, but what is the substance going be like?  The book seems very process oriented.  Seeing how these chefs create dishes and develop ideas will be interesting, but will it live up to the claims the authors/creators are making?

We want to produce a book that is accessible to foodies, while also stimulating the culinary passions of working chefs, sous chefs, line cooks, servers, culinary students and avid home cooks.  Our intent is to focus on the authenticity of the craft and not on the hype. This reinvention of the modern cookbook is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.

They are striving for the “reinvention of the modern cookbook”…..WOW……will it live up to this statement and be held alongside the likes of The French Laundry, Essential Cuisine, or Modernist Cuisine? We’ll see.  The project is ambitious and I really like the idea of focusing chefs who are known but not yet huge names to the entire world.  I support them in their effort and hope they succeed.  Hopefully this will result in more non-traditionally published food and cookbooks.
